Well, David was a part of the new movie Madagascar 3, that premiered on June 7th, 2012. ~He has directed 2 movies since F.R.I.E.N.D.S. ~His first was 'Run Fatboy Run' starring Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran, and Thandie Newton. It was a comedy, made in the city of London, which is where he met his wife, Zoe Buckman. ~His second was 'Trust' starring Clive Owen, Katherine Keener, and Liana Liberato. It was a serious film about a 14 year old girl meeting a boy online, that turns out to be a 40 year old man. ~David is 45, soon to be 46 in November. He has a wife, named Zoe Buckman, and a beautiful 1 year old girl, named Cleo. ~In my opinion, even though David isn't the biggest star out there, he certainly has grown as a person and should be very proud and happy of the work he has done. :]
Tony Award winner John Cullum, Darren Pettie and Sarah Sokolovic will join the already announced Amy Ryan and David Schwimmer for the New York City premiere of Lisa D'Amour's acclaimed suburban-set play Detroit, Playwrights Horizons announced on July 19.
The play, a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer Prize, is directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Maple and Vine at PH, The Thugs, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night). Performances begin Aug. 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater, launching PH's 2012-13 season.
According to PH notes, "Somewhere in the suburbs of a mid-sized city, Ben (Schwimmer) and Mary (Ryan) welcome into their lives the rootless couple (Pettie and Sokolovic) who move in next door. But as this foursome bonds over backyard barbecues, the neighborly connection they find threatens to unravel the lives they've built and change them forever. An ecstatic, dangerous new comedy, Detroit exposes the nerves that live just under the surface of American life today."
Schwimmer, widely known for starring in TV's "Friends," is a co-founder of the Lookingglass Theatre Company of Chicago, recipient of the 2011 Tony Award for Regional Theater. He has acted in and directed many productions for Lookingglass including Trust, Our Town, West, The Master and Margarita, The Jungle, Eye of the Beholder, The Odyssey, The Idiot, Of One Blood and his and ensemble member Joy Gregory's adaptation of Studs Terkel's book "Race."
